Although H1N1 is new, the shot is made the same way that the seasonal flu vaccines are made each year, so the ingredients, other than the virus are the same. The flu shots often change a little each year as well in anticipation of what strands of the virus will be going around. That said, it is entirely up to you wether you wish to get the shot or not. i did not take the regular flu shot with my daughter because she was born well after flu season, but did with my son because he was born at the height of it. None of us have had the H1N1 because I am a stay at home mom and my kids aren't in day care, so there exposure will be pretty limited.

No I figure regular vaccines are enough. Plus the H1n1 vaccine is so new I would be terrified to give that to my precious baby. I hate them having to be injected so I say no to extra shots like the flu shot. Your baby wont die if he gets the flu. As long as your baby is healthy he should be fine.

she got a flu shot type b with her 2 month shots, is that the same as the flu shot that everyone else gets?
no im not getting the h1n1 for her, i think its silly because first it another strain of flu, the regular flu can hurt and kill you if its going to anyways,
i think shes going to have enough shots that one doesnt need to be added, its brand new they dont even no much about it yet.
i just think they made a big deal outta nothing i know a bunch of people who already had it, and it was like the regular one.

My 6 month old got the regular flu shot at her 6 month appointment. We are strongly considering the H1N1 shot. We will decide when her doctor gets them in.
My children's doctor recommends both for children 6 months to 2 years since children under 2 can't take Tamiflu. I trust our doctor and she never is reactionary.

I'm getting the regular flu shot and I'll decide about the H1N1 vaccine after we talk it over with our doctor.

my babies are old enough now to decided if they want to have these injections put into them.me myself will choose not to have these shots done to me.I will take death for what is to come. When I was young I had to have shots too and I can tell ya I didn't like it, now that I'm older I have the right to say No to these shots.like I said I'll take my chances-I'm not afraid to died.
