There is only one filter in an automatic transmission. Drop the tranny pan and you will see it. Napa sells the filter kit with new gasket for most vehicles. Easy to do.

If you are experiencing problems a filter change may be too late. I would drop the pan to check the fluid.

    1. Metal specs - bad news

    2. Burned smell and very dark color - not so good news either

Have you considered a stuck parking brake?

    Is it shifting properly?

What is the fluid level - too little fluid and it will not shift properly to higher gear, may slip, and will drop down quickly into the lower gears.

No, there is no over drive box and there is no extra filter than what is in the trans pan
