NHL 10, does size determine hitting power?

I cant hit for crap, does the size of my skater have anything to do with it?

Is it all timing or are there other factors that determine how you hit. My guy is a tough guy and can barely get 1 hit a game.

Thanks, so I'm guessing 5'10 just doesnt cut it as a tough guy. ha ha
