Using Vista sound card to play music in chat?

I know it's been asked before but I just can't seem to find a satisfactory answer. So here goes.

I myself am still using xp to DJ in the chat rooms but I keep getting asked how someone with vista can play music. Is there anything I can tell them that will be of help? Somewhere I can point them to?

Thanks in advance.

It's really no different than in XP,just a bigger pain to set things correctly.Right click on the speaker in the tray and click playback devices, highlight the sound card and click properties.Go to the levels tab and mute everything below play control by clicking on the little boxes with speakers in them.Click the recording tab, highlight the mic you will use, click set default at the bottom, click properties, click the levels tab and set the volume at about 35.You should be good to go then.
