Snacks and baking for a Fall themed dance?

We are planning a Fall Ball at my school and I was wondering if anyone has some good finger food recipes? I have some baking ideas but any input would be appreciated. We don't want to go too close to the halloween theme, so for baking we are sticking more with pumpkin/spice foods if we go into it. Some ideas I had were; chocolate covered pretzels, pumpkin spice cookies, cup cakes, apple cider, etc. Thanks for the input!

hers a recipe for pumpkin muffin, they taste great!

Pumpkin muffins, and links to pumpkin bread and cake recipes below. These are moist pumpkin muffins, with spices and pecans or raisins. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full or nearly full for high tops.

    Prep Time: :

    Cook Time: :20

    Ingredients:

    2 cups flour

    2 teaspoons baking powder

    1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    1 scant teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    1/2 teaspoon salt

1 can (15 to 16 ounces) pumpkin puree

    1/3 cup melted butter

1/2 cup evaporated milk or half-and-half

    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

    1/4 cup granulated sugar

    2 large eggs, beaten

    1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans or raisins

    cinnamon-sugar, optional

    Preparation:

    Directions for Pumpkin Muffins

In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to blend In separate bowl, combine pumpkin, melted butter, milk or half-and-half, the beaten eggs, sugars, and vanilla; mix until blended. Stir pumpkin mixture into the dry ingredients until moistened. Fold in pecans or raisins. Do not overmix. Line 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease well and dust with flour. I use a baking spray. Fill the about 3/4-full with the pumpkin muffins batter, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar if desired, and bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 12 to 16 pumpkin muffins

Heres another creepy recipe for Deviled Eggs

To hardboil the eggs, put the eggs in a large saucepan, and fill with water until the eggs are fully covered. Put the full pan on the stove and bring to a boil over meduim heat. As soon as it reaches a rolling boil, remove from heat, still covered, and let stand covered for 20 minutes. As soon as the 20 minutes is up, run cool water over the eggs so they stop cooking. Once cool, refrigerate until ready to use.

Peel the hardboiled eggs and slice in half lengthwise. Gently pop out the yolks into a separate bowl. Once all the yolks are in the same bowl, add some mustard and a little mayonnaise to taste just so the mixture sticks together. Blend with a fork, then put the yolk mixture back in the hollows of the egg halves. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Chocolate Ant Sticks

12 ounces of chocolate chips or white chocolate chips

24 8 inch size pretzel rods

Chocolate or colored sprinkles, crushed candy or nuts

In a heat proof bowl, melt the chocolate over a pot of simmering water or in a double boiler. Dunk the pretzel rods halfway into the chocolate . Immediately roll chocolate coated pretzel rods in sprinkles, candy or nuts.

Transfer to a waxed paper-lined sheet pan and allow to cool until hardened.

"Bloody Fingers."The idea is to have a hot dog that is cut in half with ketchup around the place where the fingernail would be. You would need to stick a toothpick in it I guess.

And I know you didn't ask for punch ideas... but get lime sherbert and sprite, and mix it together in a punch bowl. Then get dried ice and place it around the punch bowl. It will look really cool! Hope I was of help!
