Brain damage? Any help appreciated.?
I am 19 years old, been smoking weed since i was 14. Since I was 17 I've been smoking heavily (every day more or less). Do I have brain damage as a result of this. I get decent grades but life seems slower or in a haze or something.
wise words. thanks

While marijuana has basically no health effects to adults, use by adolescents can decrease a lot of essential hormones that are needed for development. Chances are you are fine, but it is possible that your frontal lobe might not be as developed as it should. I would recommend to anyone who wants to smoke weed wait until you are 21, since that is when your frontal lobe is done developing and it is safer to do things like drink and smoke weed. So if you value you frontal lobe you might want to stop and wait 2 years before starting again, or at least smoke in moderation. I smoked weed since the age of 15 and never had any problems, but i might have been lucky.

Tests have shown that pot can decrease the size of your frontal lobes which processes emotions, planning, and logic. So if anything has been done that process could be starting. Also THC is fat soluble so the THC stays in your system for longer, about 2 to 3 weeks, after you smoke. That could also be affecting you. If you don't want to stop I would at least slow down. Make it a weekend thing or something. But if you are asking questions about it and seem possibly concerned it may be time to stop. Its up to you.

Serious brain damage so soon? Unlikely. But you ARE killing brain cells continuously. Stopping altogether now will probably restore you to your previous level of cognitive ability. DON'T DO DRUGS!

You smoke pot pretty much every day. I'd be surprised if life didn't seem slow or hazy. If it bothers you just don't smoke.

quit smoking pot NOW. the THC in marijuana can cause long term damage, and if you are having symptoms already.... then.... duh, you need to quit. how do you get it every single day? are you rich? I have total respect for anyone who can quit an addiction. and you are addicted. marijuana was put on this earth for cancer patients and the terminally ill. it is a miracle drug for them to manage their pain and increase appetite.
