What should I do with old textbooks/binders? I don't know if I can recycle them?
I'm cleaning out my room (finally!!) and I have tons of old plastic binders and textbooks from high school. I'm a really eco-conscious person, and I don't want to just throw them out. Is there any way I can recycle these? And these are binders that have been written on and books that aren't in use at the school anymore, so they can't be reused.
Thanks!

Check the Yellow Pages of your phone book for paper recyclers in your area, you may be able to drop them off there.
You might also do a google search for used text books. Many countries in the world do not have text books enough for the children, yours could be put to good use there.

Just because the books are not used in your school does not mean that they cannot be used. First, another school may still use them. Second, even if it is an older edition the book may be useful to someone who is using the current edition in class as a study aide at home. Third, tons of people homeschool and they may want those books. The textbooks you may be able to sell or give away. Look at the attached article on buying textbooks. All the places that sell them also buy them.
You can try to sell them on your own on eBay, Amazon, Half.com, or Craigslist.
You can give them away by listing them on Freecycle.org. Same with all of the binders.

You have a gold mind for any mixed media artist. All of these items can be put to good use in art projects.
You can put a quick ad in your local free-cycle net work. All most every town has one.
How about Craig's list under free artist materials.
Schools are always short on art supplies. The pages of the books can be used in so many ways.
Put them on a busy side walk and make a free sign.
People in homeless shelters could most likely use them.
I can think of so many uses for them in art projects that there are too many for me to mention,
Hey! Good for you on cleaning up your room and especially being concern about our environment.
I wish everyone had your attitude.

I would suggest GreenTextbooks.org

Recycle them or use up any left over pages from the binders you got left.
