if you want to keep a land line company, then you are going to have to research what resellers are available in your area/state....

if you have high speed internet then you may want to consider some of the VoIP providers that are available...

phone service provides by your cable company bundled with cable modem service will save you some money over a land line provider, and will provide for the best quality of service (QoS) compared to other VoIP providers... but the other VoIP providers can provide even greater savings...

Vonage's current offering is $25/month for unlimited calling to 60+ countries...

Ooma charges $250 for there proprietary device with lifetime service - however, to get all of the features you must pay $100-120 per year (existing customers $100, new customers $120 price recently changed)

Magic Jack is one of the cheapest companies $40 for the device and first year, then $20 a year after that.... but it requires your PC to be on, and connected to the internet....

if you can get your hands on a linksys PAP2 or similar VoIP adapter then you can get service thru a sip provider like gizmo5 for reasonable rates...

if you do not mind using a microphone and speakers (or headset) with your PC then you can get some really good rates using yahoo voice - 1 cent per minute for US calls...

you can also consider dropping a house phone all together, and going all cellular... there are many prepaid plans offering $50 or less for unlimited calling, and you can get per minute rates of 10 cents or less, if you do not need an unlimited plan from boost mobile, net 10, and virgin mobile..

i'm somewhat previous due coming to the interest however the main suitable living house telephone and information superhighway plan on your section is definitely Kontego. All their plans are much less costly and countless. they provide VoIP and speedy sturdy information superhighway with not one of the hassles, further expenditures or "over-expenditures" that comprise different agencies.. Plus they're basically in Ontario and Quebec precise now so as that they are lots greater obtainable than different agencies the place you ought to could desire to attend hours to communicate to a individual who's quite a telemarketer in a crowded room. it is very well worth the change for particular! it is much greater desirable not having to fret approximately going previous my shrink. desire that helps!
