How to free used memory on Windows?
I'm using Windows, and i play Lineage II online. After i finished playing, there are about 300 - 500 MBs of additional "PF Usage" in the task manager. How to free those memory up without restarting the computer?
It's not like there's a certain process that can be deleted from the task manager, the process' hidden, and waiting doesn't make it go away either.. and there's nothing to do with increasing the PF capacity.. just want to get rid of the extra usage..

Try this program: http://www.download.hr/software-bysoft-freeram.htm...
I use it often and it works well. Just one click to free memory without restart

PF means "page file". This isn't real memory (it's not RAM), but something called "virtual memory". It's a file on your hard drive that holds some extra data for programs that are currently running. Generally, you don't have to worry about it. A page file can be several gigabytes large and it's fine as long as you have plenty of free space on your C: drive.

i feel that windows is taking so much RAM
thats a different issue,
all you need to do then is hit ALT+CTRL+DEL
then click on the process tab
and then click on Meme Usage at the top of the list, to sort things according to ram usage
then whenever u see a program and not something , it has to be a program you know, right click on it and choose end process
that will kill it
if you want to know how to prevent windows from loading it again after restart, just ask :)

Hey,
Why to free it up ?... As long as your PF size is about 1 gig, you don`t need to worry about it
The PF is used when there is not enough RAM...
However, you can increase the PF size:

If you for a short while the page file should automatically drop back to it's normal level.
