Does joining a political party require a membership fee?

You will be inundated with requests for more funds. Letters and emails will arrive weekly, be you a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or any minor party. Each time, they will make it sound like the world will end without your donation.

My parents learned the hard way. One friend's father had given so much to the GOP over the years, Newt Gingrich called him. To thank him? No, to ask for MORE money!

All parties spend more time on fund-raising than actually doing their jobs. It's sickening. Please, don't join. Just vote for the party you support.
