Do Americans seem materialistic to you (I'm from america)? I'm just curious?

yes we are, why else do we get up early and work hard 7 days a weak?.. so we can give all of our profit to the government? i think not

There's nothing wrong with being materialistic. It's healthy to want to possess material things. It's what drives our economy and raises our standard of living. face it, this country has only been here for just over 200 years and we have the best standard of living on the entire planet -- hell, even our poor people have color TVs, microwaves and cars. Never feel guilty about having nice things and living well. We earned it, we work hard for it and NOBODY handed it to us.

I wouldn't know, because I don't have any other country to compare it to.

I think everyone's materialistic to some extent, the country doesn't really make a difference.

I am an American, and yes we are extremely materialistic. I also wont lie I am probably one of those people.

When everyone is trying to cut a budget, they never think to cut the $35 a month internet, the $5 lattes, the eating out, the $50 cable bill, etc...it's terrible

I know people who fit into that range at just about every level.

no.. i think young japanese women, and some men are more materialistic.

i've seen the stuff they wear, things they bring on trips, been to many homes, and they win.
