What's better Capitalism or Socialism?
Why?
Don't answer question if you know nothing about either
Then why is it the happiest countries in the world tend to have more of a socialistic government with things like universal healthcare?????? And far less of a gap between rich and poor like capitalism?

SOCIALISM. Why should there be five rich citizens and five thousand groveling for shelter and food? Capitalism is good for the obvious reasons of freedom, but government-run business would not be so horrible. Think about it; support is basically garaunteed no matter what. The only people who support capitalism never had to experience poverty of any sort. Of course they support it because they want to be safe. But would it be so wrong to help those in need of a job, food, and shelter? And this is a completely different arguement, but no, not everyone is capable of holding a job in this society. The homeless on the street don't wish for that life but it cannot always be helped. There are some people who just cannot support themselves and depend on the fortunate's help. Socialism is the answer.

I rather have to outcome of business in the control of the people who have for the last 200+ years use their ingenuity and determination to make America it is today, even though it is not perfect. Greed will always be a problem in the world.
Being black or minority in America is not a negative thing as some make it out to be. My grandparents own a grocery store in the 60's. My wife and I have been able to start our business without government interference. I don't need government control my business, my insurance, my car dealer, my "church". I don't need the government equaling the economics in this country by taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Covetousness always bring about ill feeling towards those who have succeeded. Also, free stuff always make people feel good, temporarily. Until they want more. If they are happy in socialistic countries, why do they come here and not return home. And that statement is an outside looking in perspective. Their government control also the media and limits speech freedoms (Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, China, North Korea). KUM BA YA
Dreams are given to all, determination comes by hard work. Do not punish the hard workers. In closing, we need to see that our religious institutions stand up and do their part in taking care of the poor, widows and orphans, instead of building these palaces called sanctuaries.

I would say true capitalism is probably the best system of any economy.
The American system is not a Capitalistic one
I suggest reading the link I left in the source box. It is a book by Henry Hazzlit an astound Austrian economicst who predicted the faltering of the brentwood agreement.
People who are happy with a socialist society is a matter of own opinion. I tend to favor hard money and a free economy. So people will not be manipulated by their government's rhetoric.
Remember America didn't become poor until it practiced Keynesian economics by manipulating the monetary system ridding itself of the gold standard (which is unconstitutional) and undermining production. And many other thing's but mostly government bailouts and new deals look up the depression of 1920 also look into the federal reserve

Where have most of the worlds people who want a better life been fleeing to over the last several hundred years? China? Russia?
Which countries have the higher standard of living for all people? That's right, Capitalist countries. Europe is not socialist, but statist and capitalism mixed, just as the U.S. They are called welfare states.The further countries stray from Capitalism, the poorer they get. Socialism is not an option in the long run, as the money that is stolen and reapportioned eventually dries up.

capitalism in the United States has worked unlike anywhere else. I was born in a socialist European country so I can appreciate it.
The Republican ideal is this: fewer taxes and thus fewer social services. more security. let business run its course.
Capitalism in America has been the vehicle that has created the most amount of millionaires and billionaires in the history of human kind.
Nobody has had as many rich people ever than we currently have in America.
Socialism tends to take money away from security and put it into social programs to help the poor. Capitalism inspires people to fight to better themselves anyway they can, be it they develop a skill such as entertainment or sports, be it that they go to school and pursue a well-paying job after.
Capitalism is by far the best system. Socialism is a marginal system that panders to the poor and uneducated with promises of free handouts. What the poor and uneducated do not understand is that services equal taxes which nobody wants to pay.

Capitalism is better. With socialism the MORE of the money you earn will be taken away and given to someone else. A doctor and a nurse will make the same amount of money. Who would want to spend all that money and go through all that school to make pennies? As a result our health care system will suffer. We will be taxed far more than we are not. Capitalsim, even with it's flaws is better. But neither are perfect.
Capitalism = More Freedom
Socialism = More Government Control

They are not mutually exclusive. A blend between the two is ideal (in fact, just about every country in the world utilizes a blend of both systems).
Pure capitalism has the negative traits of exploitation of the working class, rampant fraud and deception, corruption, embezzlement, insider market trading, monopolization, etc. Socialism has the negative traits of inefficiency, large bureaucracy, etc.
The pros of each system can outweigh the cons of the other. For example, regulation ("socialism") can protect the capitalist free market from exploitation without hindering the economic growth which stems from a free-market economy.

I used to be capitalist leaning but as a poor, disabled student who finds it hard to find a job and a steady income and can't survive on my own financially I'm becoming more supportive of socialistic ideals. In my ideals I'm not ranting against the rich or middle class but help all poor people to survive as independently and as efficiently as possible. It seems like if aren't disabled, or disabled enough, not elderly, your childless, you don't get any gov't help and you are like stuck in no man's land. And it makes it harder if you are a young adult trying to break free of your parents. And then if you live with your parents and they happen to be working or middle class in income and resources many "help" organization use that against you and won't help you despite your legal status as an adult.

Both is best!
All the best/happiest nations are not afraid of implementing whatever system woks best for the situation at hand. We need to have the courage to look to other nations and replicate what works, abolish what is not working and foster an environment that inspires the innovation to be the people who create the new solutions that other nations emulate.

Capitalism if that is what you have. We have monopolies which do not meet the definition of capitalism.
My issue with capitalism that those who do they worked are disproportionally underpaid when those making millions certainly didn't do the work, and for many it wasn't even their money. It was ours!
Monopolies are not Capitalism, and neither is our form right now as the companies suck at the trough of the poor!
Dollar-drought is not capitalism, nor is making downtown's ghost towns while you watch your money being siphoned out of it by places like Walmart!
