I always had mine checked for employment, due to being bonded.
If you are applying for a job in which you are responsible for cash or a signer on the checking account you may be checked.
An easy way to find if they are going to pull a report is to ask the employer if you will be under a fidelity bond.

Most companies do not check your credit but some jobs (mainly sales) when you will be responsible for company property they will.
So for the most part the answer is no.
You may want to take time to fix your credit so you don't avoid getting a job for fear of credit checks. You'll need the money to fix your credit.

Not all employers check credit reports. I do know some that do.(General Electric, Boeing, Haliburton in Engineering Field). However, these are included with the background checks and therefore will be just as if you were pulling it.

Some do credit checks, while others do not.
I believe they do a soft pull which will not affect your score or look as though you were seeking a loan.

Most employers do. In a business with that much cash they will! If your score is low for a reasonable reason they may or may not depending on their corporate policy. Good Luck to you!

that is a soft check on credit. it has nothing to do with your score.
they are looking for things like defauts, bankruptcies and student loans. some municipalities, police departments, for example will not hire a candidate if they have a lot of outstanding debt.
never worry on this one.
you are fine.
