Confirm Yahoo Account E-Mails?
I keep getting these alleged Yahoo messages asking me to confirm my Yahoo account so they can erase unused accounts and they want my password. Are these messages for real or are they spam? I see the same thing in Hotmail.

Of course they're not for real. Neither Yahoo or Hotmail, will ever ask for your password in an email. This is an example of a phishing scam, which is when the email is attempting to get you to provide account information (passwords, etc.) or any personal, banking or any other identifying information. Yahoo! will not ask you for account information, nor is there any such thing as a Yahoo! lottery. So when you receive an email seemingly from Yahoo asking for account information, or a notice you've won a lottery of some sort, you know it's a phishing scam. Most of these types of emails are quite common, and are known by Yahoo! But if you'd like to report them, you can forward the emails to:
phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com
For Hotmail, forward to:
report_spam@hotmail.com

This is a known phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.
