If I get a commercial drivers license in CA can I drive to other states?

    As a truck driver with a CDL from California, yes, you can drive to other states. But why do you want to get a CDL from California when if you get ANY type of ticket it's a point and a half. California only allows 4 points on your license while AZ allows 8.

    Yes if you have a commercial drivers license in CA you can drive to another state. The law loves to impose what we call interstate commerce.

    Only if you are over 21. If you are 18-20, your commercial license is restricted to your own state.

    Sure--even though CDLs are issued by the states, they're the nearest thing to a "national" drivers license.
