One of my grand daughters sent 16,655 "text" messages in ONE MONTH! Her phone was taken away.?

How is it possible to send that many messages in one month?

What on earth did she have to say in so many messages? I am an old man who does not understand. Did she have time to eat meal? to sleep? to go to the bathroom? to do homework? Can you help an old man understand?

Actually the largest amount of text sent in 1 month was over 200,000. It is mostly 1-2 words on each message or text lingo. My sister sent over 9000 in 1 week just to see if she could.

If you have an unlimited messaging plan then no concerns for charges but if you don't then you might see if your carrier would be willing to rerate your bill if you add the unlimited feature.

I work for a cell phone company and I'm not surprised about the quantity. I honestly tell parents to have their kids text instead of use minutes if they have an unlimited messaging feature just to save money. If a teenage girl cant text then they will use your minutes.

Depending on your carrier you can see about parental controls or blocking capabilities. For example at&t has smartlimits for $4.99 month and you can have an allowed list for up to 15 numbers or you can set up messaging preferences for free and sat up preferences.

wow, that's a lot of messages. 46and a quarter an hour, 12 hours a day to be exact. That seems excessive even by a teenagers standards. if she signs up for a lot of alerts, and gets involved with this such as voting for shows like american idle or america's best dance crew, sometimes these types of things can sign you up for all kinds of alerts and spam being sent to your phone. also there's the slight chance her number has been hacked and is being used by some kid in Nigeria or something to talk to everyone he knows. though, most likely it's the obvious and you did the right thing by taking it away. if she's gonna use it that much in the future though, I would just make her pay for an unlimited message upgrade to her phone plan. this way everyone wins.

the most anyone sent in one month was over 90,000 but maybe she texts a lot of people throughout the day like at school. i know that i have sent about 2000 texts in one month and i thought i sent about maybe 300. its not that hard if you text a lot instead of hanging out but that is bad texting that much because it lowers social skills since all they do is send texts. i would try to get limit of about 1000 or so texts a month and she cant send anymore beyond that limit until the next month.

so it is possible but that means she spends a lot of time on her cell phone and she texts many people at the same time and has conversations constantly

    I send 700 a month, I'm 16 with a girlfriend.

    I don't understand this either.

It's so much easier and more personable to call people.

it is not suited for the instructor to leaf via your youngster's text textile messages. i could consult with the first of the college relating to the area or checklist the instructor to the college district workplace. i'm enormously advantageous that finding on the messsages is considered privateness invasion. you will desire to get this dealt with suited away.
