NBA Fans: Do you guys honestly care about the whole "ref strike" issue?

I personally don't really care, I don't think there will even be any difference between the so called experienced refs and the replacement refs.

BQ: What are the chances u give to the following 4 teams in winning 72+ games this season. (LAL, BOS, ORL, CLE)

BQ2: How much longer will Stephen Jackson remain a Warrior?

BQ3: Is KG getting a little overrated since winning the title in 2008?

BQ4: Where do you think your team will finish up at the end of the season?

STAR if you are excited about the NBA season!!!

Update:

wow no offense but some people are understating the difficulty of winning 72 games, I'm not giving any of them over 30% at winning more than 72.

Kind of cause Once They called over 60 Fouls in 1 Game.

    BQ: LAL - 67 Wins. BOS - 63 Wins. ORL - 60 Wins. CLE - 70 Wins.

I really think that Cleveland is going to get at least 70 Wins.

    BQ2: Maybe 3 to 4 Years.

    BQ3: Yes.

    BQ4: Number 1 Spot.

It's good to see you back

    Now the answers....

Q: 100% agree : "I personally don't really care", because "Uncle Dave" is still in control of the REF$$$. So, no difference, is always the same old story.

    BQ: LAL 82%, BOS 2%, ORL 8%, CLE 8%

BQ2: I think the Warriors are gonna wait until the AllStar weekend for a good deal.

BQ3: "little" is not the right word here, because since the Biggest Rat alive, aka David Stern, help the celtics to win the championship, Garnett sees himself as a player bigger than Bill Russell, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan together.

BQ4: Well, I'm not gonna say 82-0, but the Lakers are the best team in the whole league today, so they're gonna finnish at the top spot for sure.

    STAR = of course.

    ----------------------------------------

Let's put it clear : I'm not saying they will win 72 games this season.

What I did was give you the percentage/chances among the 4 teams that you've named on the BQ1, and, for that reason, the Lakers have a 82% chance of winning between 4 teams.

Haha, I agree 100%. It is no big deal at all to me.. Even if it WAS rigged, it will be rigged again. I doubt it was rigged though.. I care more about player and coaches, not so much about the out of shape refs.

    BQ:

Lakers - 25%. If Ron Artest is a great addition like I think he will be, then I think anywhere from 69 to 71 wins. I cannot see OVER 72, POSSIBLY exactly 72.

Celtics - 10%. I say 10% because the only way they will get over 70 wins alone is if Rondo averages a triple double. Lol. No way in hell.

Magic - 5%. I HIGHLY doubt it. The Magic didn't decline this offseason, but they didn't get better either. Hedo in my opinion is better than Carter right now, not all time, and Matt Barnes doesn't fit in with the team. Bass will get what ? 10 PPG at most and 6 RPG ?

Cavaliers - 20%. I like their roster easily for 75 wins!... If Shaq, Big Z, and Anthony Parker were all about 8 years younger. Shaq is a good pick-up, along with Parker, Powe, and Moon, but no more than 68 wins for this team.

BQ2: For a quarter of the season. He isn't the captain anymore, and he got quote 'Testy' in his preseason game.. He is a good player, but obviously horrible for the Warriors in the locker room.

BQ3: HELL YES! KG is a great player, but he is not near as good as his 23 13 and 6 numbers... He is not even close. He can't even promise 20 points, or 10 rebounds a night. He can only get about 2 assists, he has lost his passing skills. KG is a good player, just a little overrated.

BQ4: New York Knicks - 12th to 8th seed, since the east is so packed tight from 8th seed and on.

i care because the replacements suck they call fouls every chance they get.

i think outta the 4 team LA and/or Cle can win the 72+ but i say they have about a 45%-55% chance of oing it the league is harder today then it was when the bulls did it.

ORL they arent there quite yet and Boston i highly doubt their old players can stay healthy

Jackson just stepped down as team captain today so im guessing not much longer probably 1-2 months the most

KG got way overrated since winning the 07-08 title

My team is Laker always was and always will be. I think theyll finish with any where from 68-73 games won for the season.

i cant wait til the regular season begins and the reg refs get back becasue with the fouls the replacements call its getting me pissed even when they call it on teams im not going for lol.

  • Actually, I do care by just judqinq the way they have been callinq the qame so far this pre-season. I think they should just pay what the "expirerienced" refs want.

The refs riqht now aren't makinq many qood calls. one qame they called like 40 somethinq fouls in a qame earlier this pre-season, that's just ridicolous. Pay the Refs!!!!!!

BQ:On a scale of 1-10, 1 beinq the lowest chance and 10 beinq the hiqhest chance.

    Lakers-4

    Boston-3

    Maqic-1

    Cleveland-4

BQ2:I do believe he will be traded before the trade deadline this year for some expirinq contracts. As you have seen early on this pre-season you can tell Jackson doesn't want to play in a Warriors uniform. I wouldn't want a player on my team that complains and doesn't even try out there on the floor.

BQ3: Can you say the whole Boston's Roster? I do aqree, every player has been overrated since winninq the rinq, especially KG, callinq him the best Defensive player or the Best Power Forward is just outraqeous.

BQ4:Lakers will finish in my opinion first in the West and also the best record in the NBA. My prediction, record wise for the Lakers is 68-13.

Doesn't make a difference to me as long as games are called fairly and consistently for both teams

BQ:Zero Chance, no team is near as good as the 96 Bulls who are the best NBA team of All-time and the competition is too tough in the NBA this year to win 70 let alone break the record

BQ2: I think till the end of next year. He's in a long contract and with the upcoming 2010 free agent class nobody is going to want to take on his long contract when they're trying to save money to sign big name Free Agents.

BQ3:I don't think so. He was one of the Top 2 players in the NBA along with Tim Duncan in my opinion during the early-mid 2000s. He's an impact player and as in 2008 the type of player that can take your organization over the top and win you an NBA title. His abscence was huge during last years playoffs. Not only on the floor but emotionally he's a leader

BQ4:I don't think Ben Gordon's loss is actually going to affect us too much to at all. If Luol Deng stays healthy we'll be even better than last year. Salmons continues to improve and is a great scorer and James Johnson and Taj Gibson are having excellent rookie preseasons and could be solid off the bench. Derrick Rose will be the best PG in the East this year in the NBA.

I see the Bulls being 50-32 and finishing 4th in the East

I have been in Angels Stadium, Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Petco Park and whatever the name is of that sauna in Miami in Red Sox gear. Everyone treats you with respect/ignores you, except the Yankee fans. There is just too much history there. It makes it fun. As for your experience, I could never understand why a Yankee fan would show up at Fenway for a Red Sox--Tigers game in Yankee gear. Wear Tiger gear for Heaven's sake. Of course you are going to be the most loathed person in the park. Actually wearing a Yankee hat in the City of Boston is not the brightest of moves as a general matter.

I don't care. Besides a similar question was asked before about the replacement refs and my answer was there would never a single difference between the 2 as long as the one who orders them to do bad calls still stays(which doesn't belong to the rank of the referees).

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Amz7q...

    BQ: 50-50

BQ2: He will be traded before the trading deadline I think.

BQ3: I don't think so. He should be given more credit for their 2008 title than Paul Pierce.

BQ4: The Cavs will be top 1-3 in the Eastern Conference.

yes i do care. i have blazer season tickets, and in the 2 home games we have had it is obvoius that these refs ref in a whole different way. they call more fouls, do not notice goaltending or 3 in the key ofensive or defensive, are less likely to call charges, and are slower in their whistles. It is new to the players the way the game is officiated, and you can definately tell it is a different type of game. almost like a new set of rules.

i still lvoe the nba though

  • 1 decade ago

Sort of. These replacement refs SUCK!!

BQ: I only feel Cleveland and LA have the best chance. I could see them both winning around 70 games this year. I don't see Boston or Orlando doing anything huge.

BQ2: I'll say three or four more years.

BQ3: YES!! He was even a tad overrated before it.

BQ4: The top of the Eastern Confernce, winning it all! ;)
