how do you get rid of a sore throat and a touch of fever?

3 long days I have had a sore throat, just a little fever it isn't something that I feel I need to stay home from work (just washing hands and being careful). So what can I do to speed up the healing process? I think all my co workers have had this whatever it is. Lucky me to be the last one on board to get it. Lol. I feel a little tired and I really want this sore throat to go away. Thank You for all your answers.

Update:

What is lemsip? I will check around to see if i can find it. Both thank of you very much for your answers. Very helpful very wise.

Update 2:

Oh well some of my co workers had it for 2-3 days some had it for 2 weeks almost among other things.

for the sore throat gargle with warm salt water and then drink hot tea with lemon and honey. for the fever take a luke warm shower or bath and then rub behind your ears and the back of your neck with rubbing alcohol. lots of vitamin c helps to take 1000 mgs to start then normal doses after that you pee out what you don't need and LOTS of REST

How long did it last for your co workers? I would say it should last another 2 days at most. I hate sore throats too, and unfortunately nothing helps them much. I like to sleep the time away when I can. Apart from that, a teaspoon of honey and try and keep it around your throat, and some lemsip (do you have lemsip in your country?)

Hope it goes away soon for you.

I would go to the dr and find out what it is. You might have strep throat.
