How do you solve this math problem?

In 1794, the French Army sent soldiers

up in hot air balloons to observe enermy

troop movements. One such balloon, the

L’Entrepenant, had a volume of 864(pi) / 3

cubic meters

(the formula for volume of a sphere

is V =4/3 (pi) r ^ 3

What is the diameter of the balloon, and what's the surface area?

    use that equation to solve for r, diameter would be r x 2.

    V = 4/3 pi r^3

    3V = 4pi r^3

    3V/4pi = r^3

    cuberoot(3V/4pi) = r

    diameter = 2 x cuberoot(3V/4pi)

    surface area = 4pi r^2
