    Walekum Asalam,

When I ask same question to Imam of Masjid where I regularly pray.

    He said:

We do that following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). We recite silently in the prayers in which he recited silently, and we recite out loud in the prayers in which he recited out loud, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow”

    [al-Ahzaab 33:21]

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Pray as you have seen me praying.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh

And one more reason is in starting days of Modern day Islam Mohammed(PBUH) and his followers use to pray in hiding to save themselves form mushrik of Mecca. So, Mohammed(PBUH) asked his followers to observe silence in Dhuhr and Asr since at this time people or on the street and they can observe, in remaining times either people are slept or already back to homes so it was a better way to pray!!!

No explanation of this exists in the sources. It seems that, in a natural setting, since these two times of the day are bustling with noise and public activity, silent prayers have been preferred. One generally enjoys listening to auditions when silence prevails. One would seldom wish to hear the Qur’ān being read in noisy settings.

This explanation is of course a personal opinion and some other person may offer a better explanation BUT you can check out this website it will clearfy the question more and better

    walekum salam

in all the jam aah salah the followers behind the imam only recite in sajda/sujood and ruku and attahiyatu lillahi was salawatu wa tayibatu and then allahumma salli and then the dua after it what u recite in salahs.

in all qiyaam i.e when imam recites surah fatiha and other surah, the muqtadis --> the followers behind him will remain silent and not recite anything. so whether imam recites loud or soft, u dont recite surah fatiha and any other surah, because imam's recitation is sufficient for the muqtadi, but u do recite thana which is subhana kallahumma wa bihamdika etc.... so whether it be 3rd rakat of magribh where imam is silent, u still dont recite anything since imam's recitation is sufficient, so u just remain silent and hear him.

only Allah knows why it is like this. some of the things, Allah gave us reason why its haram, and some stuff we dont know, so trust Allah. It is He who wills and decide not us nor you nor me.

That whoever recited ten verses interior the night (in prayer) is actual not written among the heedless, a Qintaar of reward would be written for him and Allaah the Exalted will say to him: "Recite and upward push via one degree with each verse", till he consists of the final verse he knows. Allaah favours him via giving him eternity. the single that walks to the prayer (interior the mosque) is raised in ranks and has his sins bumped off, the two on an identical time as he is going to the mosque and while he returns from it. That the night prayer is an clarification for righteousness and taqwaa and it expiates the sins and forestalls one from falling into them. That the single that prays at night obtains a reward which maximum of mankind do not. wish it helps there are extra on the internet internet site with the link under:

Here is What Allah Rahman Commands us in Glorious Quran

[17:110] Say, "Call Him GOD, or call Him the Most Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names."

You shall not utter your Salat too loudly, nor secretly; use a moderate tone.
