What mistake did Zab Judah do to lose from Miguel Cotto?

Since Judah is a southpaw with fast hands, he is considered the closest opponent that resembles Pacquiao. What was Zab's mistake and why he lost?

Zab even with a perfect game plan had no shot against Cotto. Cotto at this time in my opinion can even beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. at Junior Welterweight. Cotto is the third best Junior Welterweight in the 21st century next to Kostya Tzyu and Ricky Hatton. He defended his title six times and whoop some azz on his way to welterweight. I have nothing but respect to Cotto, he is the most underrated fighter today. He is the only one I dont mind beating Pacquiao. Judah is inferior to Cotto in every boxing category, except speed.

Zab Juddah is far less disciplined than Miguel Cotto. Zab has a tendency to unfastened his temper while he isn't touchdown. additionally Zab does not p.c.. himself after throwing too lots punches. Cotto is greater calm and collective while he fights. Cotto wins easily.

Zab Judah's biggest mistake was fighting an aggressive body puncher like Miguel Cotto after nearly siting around for a whole year. What people forget is that after Zab's low blow to Floyd Mayweather he was suspended for a year. He had what was supposed to be a tune up agents a journeyman fighter that ended in the 1st round with a No-Contest. With his tune up fight being scarped he signed on to fight Miguel Cotto probably the 2nd or 3rd best Welterweight at the time.

Zab Judah had his moments in the fight and was very competitive early on but the longer the fight went on the more steam his train lost, that combined with a relentless body attack continued to slow Zab down.

Miguel Cotto also hit Zab Judah with a number of Low Blows like one of the guys above me mentioned. To an extent It played into the fight because it took Zab's legs away which served as his biggest asset. With his legs nearly gone after a few rounds Zab had to abort his old game plan of Boxing and moving to stand in the pocket and fight with Miguel Cotto, with the ring being extremely small he was doomed to fail.

    Zab's mistakes were

    1. Taking such a tough fight after a Year layoff

    2. Agreeing to fight in such a small ring

    3. Deciding to trade with Miguel Cotto

    4. Having only one game plan.

    5. Lack of conditioning

Yeah those low blows must have hurt really bad. And he was hit there twice by one of the strongest body punchers. That has got to hurt!

I respect Miguel Cotto but I couldn't help think if that was intentional. Why twice? He could have done it purposely to slow down Judah, and it worked!

Anyway, Miguel Cotto won and its over.

He didn't keep his hands low enough to block the blows to his nuts. He's easily thrown off of his game plan, and he lacks stamina. He was beating Cotto, rocked him a few times, then Cotto started hitting him low to get a breather. It threw Zab off of his game plan, then from there his stamina got the best of him. Cotto is a good fighter, but he's shown flaws in the past, especially against good fighters. If he concentrates on his body work early, uses his jab, and defends the straight left hand and uppercuts he can win.

Zab should of warn a bigger cup. Cotto started taking out all the steam with those low blows.

i agree that his stamia isn't that great but i feel that his problem is his mental strength ,if the fight doesn't end fast like when he was consider an up and coming champion,he folds, he stops throwing punches and becomes too defensive and is just there to survive. He found that mental tuffness when he fought spinks and knock him out.the few times that he hit cotto he hurt him but they were far and few.now u know that pac-man throws alot and packs agood punch and can go 12 well time will tell i like cotto my pr bro but i will not bet on it

Zab is not a rugged fighter. He wears down and slows down. As far as any mistakes, I don't consider him as having made any, it's just that his body couldn't hold up to the punishment. I don't think there is any real way to be more durable.

Marcus, Norman, and Elmer nailed it.

Judah was out-muscled and sometimes even confused when Cotto turned to South paw.

He was fighting perfectly the earlier rounds. I guess his balls just caught up with him. I mean how can he recover from two power shots which was directly aimed at his nuts and on top of that, it came from one of the most powerful punchers in the division. He must be shooting blanks by now.
