How long and hard is it to replace the rack and pinion steering bushings on a 1999 Chrysler 300m?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it a 5. They are in a hard to reach place so plan on socket extensions and swivel sockets and a hammer. You will probably want to have it aligned after its done. Plan on about 4 hours.

With the new style bushings they are not near as bad as they were, but still a pain. almost impossible without having the car up on a lift. Biggest problem, make sure to get the tabs that lock the bolts in are secured.

Check the vacuum hoses which run to the manifold. One is probably off or broken. Good luck.

as long and as hard as it can be depending on you ablities as a mechanic, or without the right equipment and tools you could kill yourself,
