I assume you are refering to your wireless router. If so, you need to secure it through the routers admin. Check your router's manual, or search the web using your routers manufacturer name. You will need the local IP address to connect to the routers admin page, and the default username/password. Once you gain access to the admin page, you will be able to find the option to secure your router with password protection.

Note: There is a difference between setting a password for router admin access, and setting a password for network access.

Put a password on the router

    OR use MAC address filtering

OR do not broadcast the SSID.

Or do any combination of the above

I would recommend the first option first.

well first thing is to ensure you have WPA as your wireless encryption.

next things is to make sure your password is random like

    LKhjfklLOKJ9384934LKJHffFF

ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE SECURE !!

WEP is broken any WEP key can be reverse engineered in no time.

WPA and WPA2 is somewhat crackable. if your using a passphrase of normal dictionary words you might aswell just used WEP.

thats it folks securing your router login isn't very important as it will be set to only accept inside port 80 connection.

set you router to only accept outside traffic on ports your going to use.

    80 and 8080

    21 20 FTP

    53 DNS

mail and torrents also for me

open them on router only as needed and log traffic

thats as secure as your going to be

Secure it with a password that is random with a lot of numbers. Don't use your birthday of anything else easy to guess. If you do that they will only be able to use it after entering the password.

Usually you get into your router from the browser 192.168.1.1 after that you should be able to set your security settings.

You have to set up your router with password.
