Is texting instead of calling all the time rude?

I agree. Texting is annoying. Just phone, you can say everything in 3 minutes which would take 30 minutes to text back and forth.

in a way i think its rude but then again its not..me and my boyfriend are both still in school and he texts me good morningg all the way till goodnight..people text because they wanna talk to more than one person at a time or there so busy that they cant sit and talk on the phone..i personally hate short conversations on the phone and if its a simple question like whats the homework or what time are we meeting up why call..i love to text because i feel bad when i have to tell someone i gotta go cause your boring me..and then when you talk on the phone you run out of things to say and then there's this long period of silence..when for some odd reason you can hold a two hour conversation through texts and never be bored..and some people are just shy and things they cant say out loud they can through text messages..if thats the case then why do people sit and hold conversations on twitter myspace facebook and other things like that when they can just exchange numbers and call or text

I agree. If youre both busy and just want to send a couple texts, its cool although having a conversation spread throughout the day through text that could have been said within 15 mins is rude.

I've known a few people who absolutely refuse to talk over the phone, especially over something serious. These people don't have any respect and should be taught some manners.

Well, let's see. I'd have to agree with you. Who wants to text ALL the time? That is pretty rude.

If you have something quick to say, then texting can say a bunch of time. However, if you want to catch up a little on life, then a 10 minute call would definitely be more appropriate.

Umm... Texting is alot easier for people, because for me personally I'd rather text then call. Maybe you should text the person and say "hey I really need to talk to you for like five minutes" or so, maybe you're not their cellular plan so it'll cost them minutes? You know...

Ugh I hate it too! It super annoying! I've asked a few people why they do this (I find that guys do it more than girls) and they just say they rather text than talk, its just more convenient. So, no I don't think its being rude.

Yup, rude. People like to text because they can chat with a whole bunch of people at the same time. In other words, they don't have to give anyone their full attention.

As long as you're not calling someone 6 times in the same hour..then yeah, thats hella rude.

wordd i feel you babe. It's so much of a timesaver to just talk real quick and get it over with. Plus, its not like ppl do much when they text anyway- they're all so worried about when to text back, how long to wait to not look desperate, how to word it just right so it sounds good, blah blah BLAH. It takes you 5 minutes just to get one g*ddamn sentence out!
