Can I eat these sausages?
I defrosted some sausages and the top seems tough and wrinkly and the underneath feels fresh and soft. They smell fine. What could have caused this and are they safe to eat?

In general your sense of smell is your best indicator, if they smell good, they are good too eat.. if the meat is wrapped in natural casing it would be wrinkely, after a defrost.

seriously if they dint smell rancid and they are not slimy they are fine. but be sure to cook them to the right temp. If you heat them up to 165 your safe. it will kill off anything bad.

I'm sure you can eat them, but if you're like me and have a paranoia of food looking a tiny bit different than it did yesterday I would throw them away. :P
