you are lost on a jungle trail and you come to a fork in the road.
you know that down one path there is a violent tribe who will kill u if u enter their villiage, this tribe always lies, and can never tell the truth
down the other path there is a good tribe of people who always tell the truth, if u enter their villiage, they will help u find ur way home :)
you dont know which path leads to which tribe,
as u try to decide which way to go, u meet a traveler coming down one of the paths. what will u ask him?
(i got this one from my dad, who heard it from my grandpa, who heard it while he was in the navy)

"Which tribe are you from?"
If he's a liar from the violent tribe, he'll point to the good tribe. If he's from the good tribe, he'll tell the truth and point to the good tribe.
Does that make sense??? Cause I confused myself...oh no :(

Ask him ask him. " If I were to ask a person from the other village, which path leads to the village where everyone speaks the truth which path would he point out?" Now if he was from the village where everyone told lies he will 'lie' by pointing to the path that leads to the village where everyone tells lies! If he is from the village where everyone tells the truth he also will point out the path that leads to the village where everyone tells lies, because I had asked 'what the person from the other village would point out!" Knowing this fact I will take the other path!!!.

Did you just come from a good village with nice people?
If he did then he'd tell the truth right? Cause the bad tribe can never tell the truth.

Assuming that the traveler is from one of the villages you mentioned, you can simply ask to show you which is the path to his village or to take you to his village.
If the villager is from the violent tribe which always lies, he will lie about which village he belongs to and take you to the good village.
If the villager is from the good village, he will simply tell the truth and show you the path to his own village.

"From which of these two villages do you come?"
1. The person from village of safety will point in the direction of the village of safety and person from cannibals, because he has to lie, will too point at the direction of the village of safety. Because both person's answers are the same and one of them always tells the truth, the direction indicated is toward the city of safety

2. "What will the other man tell me if I ask him which road to take?"
