Poor Maths and English?
Why are so many employers complaining about poor standards of Maths & English that schooleavers seem to have?

Um I'm 14 and mathematics and grammar is PRETTY important if you want to get a good job. They want students to be pushed hard in those areas so they are prepared for life as an adult and not an immature child that goes around saying "I hate math and english!" I mean honestly, math certainly isn't the most fun class (English is my favorite subject though) but I don't go around saying it's useless. I'm mature enough to realize how important it is in life whether you get a job or not. America is dumbing down with schools these days. They don't push us hard enough which is one of the MANY reasons why I am happy I'm in a private school. Plus, even if your job does not require wonderful skills in those areas, it's still nice to know that stuff so you can consider yourself better than the average lazy American, right?
