Does Viewed deserve a penalty into the Melbourne Cup?

So after Viewed's fantastic Caulfield Cup win a descision needs to be made on what penalty if any he should get into the Melbourne Cup. As the weights stand at the moment Efficient is top weight with 58kgs and now that Maldivian is out for the spring Viewed is second top weight with 57kgs.

So should he get a penalty and if so how much extra weight should he get?

Update:

Alcopop is the question mark.

Somehting to think about - Fiumicino came fifth beaten 3.5L, time was 2:33.27 for the race with 55kgs Viewed had 57kgs, over the same distance but on a heavy 9 track Speed Gifted (53kgs) beat him by 7L time was 2:36.33. In that race he carried 57kgs.

Update 2:

Definitely, a one kilo penalty wouldn't be unfair.

Forget the run he got, the horse was good enough to

take the run and accelerate away from the field with a very healthy

margin at the finish.Being equal topwieght is justified as Viewed is now

a caulfield and melbourne cup winner, which makes him a great stayer

    with a great trainer.

Alcopop is definitetly an a factor due to the rapid improvement and the fact he has been given time to mature physically before being asked

to compete on the racetrack, his first race only being a year ago.

he shouldnt get a penalty but he will, it will be 1kg i reckon, brad rawiller said itwas a good win but the margin was a bit flattering cos of the dream run he got, still the big ? runner is alcopop, he's the one on the way up and has the best turn f foot, but can he have that after the extra 4 furlongs, thats the question

Not much, 0.5-1.0 kg. I'd err on the side of half a kilo, he just got cheap runs along the fence in the Caufield Cup and there's no way I could see Greg Carpenter being able to justify making Viewed equal top or beyond.
