What's the difference between a Software Engineering degree and a Computer Programming Degree?
Eventually I would like to program games for a living (I know it's cliché). I've been looking at lists of BAs for certain colleges and haven't decided quite what I'm looking for. Very few schools have an accredited Game Design/Game Development/Game Programming BA (Go Santa Cruz!), but many have both Computer Programming and Software Engineering degrees. What's the difference between the two? Is Computer Science a good alternative?

I've always thought it to just be a different name for the same thing.
Software Engineer makes you sound more impressive though. Kinda like being a "Waste disposal manager" as opposed to "garbage man". I have worked as a programmer for a long time. With one of my employers, my contract also listed me as "Software Engineer", but the job was exactly the same as the "Programmer" ones.
The difference should be listed in the descriptions of the specific studies.
I'm quite curious myself tbh. Could you list a school that has both of them?
