Biscuits and sausage gravy
Bake some biscuits (you can do them from scratch, but I love my Bisquick.) While they are baking take a pound of country style sausage and brown it up good in a big frying pan. Pour off the fat into a heatproof measuring cup and add 1/4 cup of it back into the pan. Add a 1/4 cup of flour to it and stir it over low heat until the mixture bubbles. Pour in 3 cups or so of milk and turn the heat up to medium and keep stirring until the gravy gets thick and bubbles. Let it boil for about 3 minutes and taste -- add salt and pepper if you want, or a few drops of pepper sauce if you like it spicy. If the gravy is thicker than you want, add a little more milk.
Split and butter your biscuits, put them onto a plate or into a shallow bowl and pour on the gravy. Doesn't get any better than that!
