Edward Cullen inspires killer paedophile?

Sadly, I remember when this happened.

I used to work at a supermarket with one of the girl's former classmates. It was a terrible thing that happened. The accused is an incredibly sick individual and I am angry that he is only being charged now, almost three years after Carly Ryan was murdered.

However, I do not think that her murder has anything at all to do with Twilight. Yes, the girl was emo, and interested in gothic culture. I think what she was interested in was a lot more hardcore than the sparkly Twilight vampires. Also, her MySpace page (which was splashed across the front page of Adelaide newspaper "The Advertiser" at the time) contained manly sexual S&M images, that she had allegedly placed on there because she was interested in the "artistic" value of the pictures.

Also if you look closely at the article, you will see that she was interested in the son, not the father. The murder occurred in February 2007, eighteen months before Twilight gained widespread popularity in Australia. In fact at that point, I do not think that any of the books were even on sale here (I could be wrong about that however).

I think she was a little girl who grew up before she was ready, met the wrong person and paid the ultimate price.

Um, there were pervs long before Twilight and they will be long after too. Internet stalkers and pedophiles are NOT because of Twilight.

As for the 'Vampires are cool' thing....if the girls start drinking blood..then we should start to worry. Its just like the whole "I wanna be a wizard" thing. Can they actually ever be either? no! So why does it matter?!

I read this and I instantly thought 'Nah, that stuff happens all the time just because', then I read the article and found out it was on a Vampire website... well.

It may not surprise me because there are a lot of sick fu-cks in this world. Can't believe it's in South Aus though.

Lmao yes you are too anti-twilight. This relates in no way what so ever, your just trying to find something in this story that isent there, twilight! As for the story, well they deserved to be locked in a hole, with the poorest quality of life til they die!

Edward Cullen sucks. If you want to see a vampire, check out Bram Stoker's "Dracula". Twilight is gay.

But I think you're taking the anti-moonlight thing a bit too far. If someone wants to kill, they sure as hell ain't gonna get the idea from something like Twilight!
