Question for midwives/Doctors regarding vomiting during labour...?
Can being sick during labour a sign of being fully dilated, being ready to push or of baby being back to back?
(If you answer please can you let me know if you are qualified or sources?) Thank you.

I don't think many women would vomit when they are ready to push? I found Pethidine made me sick, my baby was "back to back" but I vomited within an hour of having the Pethidine injection (around 6cm dilated) so I put it down to that.

Many women vomit in labour and it doesn't necessary relate to the stages you mention. While in labour, your abdomen is being squeezed and the muscles cramp to help bring your baby out. As your stomach is sitting on top of this roller coaster, it gets no choice and doesn't appreciate the movement!
Source(s): Vomited during labour both times.
