Name a song or artist you have discovered thanks to R&P?

Hello Friends, it was one year ago today that I discovered Yahoo Answers. I never expected to meet so many terrific people and to make so many friends from around the world. To list all the music I've discovered here would take all day, so I'll leave that to YOU!

simply name one song or artist you have discovered thanks to R&P

    Hey Punch.

    Happy YAnniversary (wow, I see how I saw it, but some things should just not be combined in the name of a sort of tech-y brevity). Anyways, I know just what you mean about the fine folks and the pleasure it's been finding this place and using the site.

    Anyhoo. I've had quite a few too. Too many to list (most notably, though not the only source, but it feels like a good opportunity to say thanks to Radio for his Songs For Your Ears series that has netted albums for my collection and a lot of great stuff I never would have heard of for my consciousness). I'll just roll with the fact that you specifically said one.

    The first one that comes to mind is (from Rukrym):

    Fionn Regan - The Underwood Typwriter

    Happy Tuesday Punch. I know I'm very far from being alone in being really happy that you did discover this place and have been around.

    Happy anniversary! I discovered the Smashing Pumpkins via Y!A mostly. I'd heard of them before but never gave a listen until recommended by several people, and that's just one that I've been introduced to.

    Happy Anniversary, Punch. I thought you'd been around for much longer than that.....

    hm... I've discovered some good stuff through this site, off the top of my head:

    Au Revoir, Simone

    Wintersleep

    Bombay Bicycle Club

    Casiotone for the Painfully Alone

    I'm sure there's more, though.

    I know you said name one... but I couldn't. I needed to name more.

    What might be more remarkable is how Y!A has made me go from generally being indifferent to, and kind of liking some songs from Queen, to absolutely not wanting anything to do with them. Queen is belovedby many members here, and I do not begrudge them their love.... love away, Queen-ites. But, I can't even listen to them anymore.

    Elbow "Grounds for Divorce" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL4mywCOJXA from a Mr. PunchDrunkMusicLover

    I have heard alot of music I may have never discovered if not for R&P. But, I also gave alot of bands that I initially passed on a real listen because of recommendations from contacts....KoL (TSR), Muse(Sabrina), Stereolab and Band of Horses (Waves), NMH (Frosted), Sigur Ros (Olive) and I gained more respect for Britpop because of David. The formerly dismissed Arcade Fire is the band I have on hold at the library because of praise for them from Vinny, Waves and Olive.

    Hello dear :)

    {it's in the post!}

    Well, there have been a few songs / bands {though I usually like just a few songs by the band}, so I guess I'll go with a band I liked a lot by :~

    The Mediaeval Baebes

    {thank you to Gorgon}
