When he was with Boogie Down he was just coming into his own.We all heard him and thought the group was dope. When he went solo he had a lot more buzz to his name.I remember him rushing the stage when Pm Dawn was performing. He had shows were he would stop and tell people if they have recorders turn them on and he would pause the show until. He's shown how diverse he can be,his freestyles are pure and knowledgeable.

I noticed a lot of people(specially younger ones)say that he's overrated. One of the dopest to ever grab a mic.Boogie down has classics but,Krs has done more solo.

  • Imo, KRS was at his best during the early stages of his solo career. That's not to take away from his work with BDP - Criminal Minded alone is one of the all time greatest hip hop albums and you can't fcuk with tracks like Poetry and The Bridge Is Over, but from Return of the Boom Bap to Kristyles (and I would go out on a limb and even include Spiritual Minded in that), he was making some of the best music of his career, and some of the best music in hip hop.

That's like 10 years, give or take, of solid work, as opposed to the 5 or 6 with BDP.

    It's close though.
