kaspersky is a really good anti virus but can of course eat away your ram & system resources. I suggest spybot. it has active system shield & immunization + it's probably the most famous anti malware software known to man kind with its powerful scanning technology & signatures. a site called aiotoolkit.com has all of the best free utilities with direct links for instant downloads along so much more apps that are free.

F-Secure's 2010 package offers up to 60% faster scanning and 70% less memory usage. There is a free scanner available on their website as well as a free 30-day trial of their package. Their website is fsecure.com, the link to the scanner is http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/security/security-la...

I have been using Avast for years, and it does an excellent job of catching potential issues BEFORE they become a problem, without slowing my computer's performance. You can get it at www.avast.com.

    Avast + Malwarebytes works well.

Whatever you do stay away from Norton. It is very over rated.

AVG is a good one, and it's free. I hear Avira is good too.
