Speakers for my dell computer are not working. Help!!?
I have a Dell Studio laptop and the sound from the internal speakers will not play. The sound works when there are headphones plugged in but not by itself. Does anyone know a setting i could have changed to make the speakers not play? and no its not on mute. Does the sound have to be on hdmi or speakers/headphones? help greatly appreciated!

go to hdmi idt setting guess you on vista change it there to speakers

Go to settings/control panel/system/device manager
and delete the sound device and shut down. Reboot
and you should get the message "new device found" see
if windows can install it from the windows files.
If it is not there you will have to download the driver and install it manually.
