Fallout 3 has recently significantly dropped in performance. Why?
I've been playing Fallout 3 lately and when I first began it, the game ran very smoothly at the lowest end settings. But now, with my same settings, the game has become glitchy and very slow and laggy. I've tried stuff like setting the resolution down, changing certain variables, and even tried a console command that's supposed to free up memory to improve performance. I even tried setting it's .exe to high priority, but that just seemed to make it worse. What can I do?

unfortunately the longer you play the more glitches and lag you will get. i don't know why but you can usually do everything in the game before it freezes.
some things that i notice that helped were.
not having followers.
not leaving lots of items on the floor.
not getting a theme for your house.
not storing alot of items in your house.
not having to many items on your person.
other than that theres not alot you can do man sorry.
