  • Is it possible to transfer PS3 save-game data from one user to another?

    Wanted to know:

Is it possible to back up all game saves and move them to another user on a PS3?

Eventually I'm going to want to have an account with master-privileges. And I understand that would involve making a new account as 18+ years old.

I don't REALLY mind letting all my trophies go, but I don't want to lose all my game data from my original user sub-account. Therefore, I wanted to know if I could transfer/copy game saves (for example, LBP2 costumes, level progress, created levels, etc.) on to a different user.

  • Windows Boot Manager Status:0xc000000e. Can't launch Win7 Startup Repair with installation disc?

This problem surfaced after I turned my computer on last night (12/2/10). After the Windows Logo, there's a quick flash of a blue screen with a smaller black box in the middle of it with some text that I can't make out. The computer then restarts itself and gives me two options:

    1. Launch Startup Repair (Recommended)

    2. Launch Windows Normally

If I try the first, it sends me to a menu telling me how to launch the Startup repair. I follow the instructions and restart my computer with my Win7 installation disc in. When I try going back to Launch Startup Repair, it puts me back to the same screen with the instructions and says this:

    Status:0xc000000e

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

So I can't start Windows at all, not even in safe mode, and I can't use the Startup Repair. The last thing I want to do is wipe my hard drive and start fresh, but I don't think I can even do that if I can't even use the installation disc. What can I do?

  • How can I monitor how much time is spent on my Xbox 360?

I've got a little brother that I share my 360 with. Seeing as my parents sort of entrust me with the ability to oversee all electronics in the house, I want to know if there's some way I can look at what games have been played recently and for how long. Cause I have some mature titles that I don't want him to be on. And I'm not too crazy about parental settings because we share a Live account, so I don't want to remove my own ability to play more mature titles. What can I do?

  • Xbox 360 connected to the internet, but not to Xbox Live. What can I do?

I'm at my wit's end with this problem. I haven't been able to connect to Xbox Live recently. After testing my connection to Xbox Live dozens of times, it says I am connected to the internet, but the little loading bar for the connection to Live goes up once, stops, and says it can't connect.

I've enabled DMZ in my router, opened all of Live's required ports, I've talked to their tech support, and no Parental restrictions are set. I've gone into the DMZ's settings and changed the IP back and forth from 192.168.2.2 (my 360's IP address) and 192.168.2.5. The 2.2 address once allowed me to successfully connect to games in Red Dead Redemption. Now that IP removes my ability to connect to Xbox Live entirely. The 2.5 address allows me to connect to Live, but I can't connect to many online games, nor join/host parties easily. I've had the 2.2 IP address on my DMZ for quite some time and I've only just found problems with it in the last couple of days.

I've scoured Microsoft's Xbox 360 technical support pages to no avail.

My 360 is directly connected to my router.

I've added all of Live's ports to my router and my Windows Firewall.

I've restarted my router, modem, and 360 countless times.

2 days ago this problem first surfaced. It began working again after I added 2 new ports into my router. It then worked for the rest of the day and all of the next day. Today the problem returned. I've run out of ideas and options. I've reset my 360's network settings to factory default, I've tried manually entering all of the digits, I spent 30 minutes with tech support running back and forth between my basement and my router turning off and turning on things over and over.

tl;dr - 360 won't connect to Live, but it is connected to the internet. Tried many solutions. None of them worked for long. I need a way to actually connect to Live, AND play big online games like Red Dead Redemption.

    Please help.

  • Is the program ISODisk legitimate?

I'm looking for a free ISO mounter because just about everything out there makes you pay for full use. I stumbled across a program called ISODisk at www.isodisk.com and I'm getting this weird vibe from it. I don't know if it's a legitimate program or not, as it's asking to restart my computer for it to fully work. I don't know if most ISO mounting programs make you do that or not, but I don't know. I'm skeptic.

  • What's the full name of the most recent Resident Evil Movie?

I saw a preview for it in PlayStation Home, and it was animated. Released around the time of RE5, and I can't quite pin the rest of the title. It's Resident Evil: "Something"...

  • (Heart Gold) How do you remove an effect such as paralysis from a wild Pokemon?

I'm on the "hunt" for Raikou and Entei and have paralyzed them both. I figured that putting them to sleep would be a better tactic to catch them, but since they're already paralyzed, how do I remove it so I can put them to sleep? Or does it matter? Is paralysis just as effective as putting them to sleep?

  • I want a gaming laptop. Would the Alienware M11x do the job?

I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop that's under $1000. The Alienware M11x seems to be a pretty good idea, but I hear people say: "oh don't get Alienware, those are craptops."

Should I believe them? Would you recommend it or are there better laptops with lower prices for gaming?

    Site for M11x:

  • Virus problem. Can't open up .exe's without designating the .exe I'm trying to open in Browse?

Today, I got a strange virus. After looking through a site, Adobe Reader pops up on its own and then my AVG finds a virus. I've had a virus enter through Adobe Reader before, and I wonder how the heck it does that, but that's not what I'm asking.

After the main parts of the virus were removed, I tried opening up FireFox only to find a message saying:

    Open With

Choose the program you want to use to open the file:

    File: firefox.exe

Then it shows a list of programs.

Now, this has happened to me before but I don't know how to fix it. And this happens to every single one of my applications and .exe files. Also, after I designate FireFox to open, it shows another box saying that it can't find a strangely named file... But it works after I press OK.

Anyone else have this problem before? Any known fixes? Suggestions? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

  • I'm sick and tired of Semi-Pay to Play Fps games! Suggestions?

Title more or less says it all. I'm completely sick of games like Combat Arms, War Rock, and A.V.A. that make you pay real money for points that you spend on better items and weapons. And they don't even let you KEEP those items! Only there for a week or month or so. So do you guys have any suggestions for 100% free online-FPS games?

Any suggestions other than Wolfenstein: ET, please.

  • Really big "SecondLife" graphical issues.?

I just recently downloaded/installed Second Life on my PC. To my dismay, when the world opened up, all I could see were randomly changing colors and textures converging around a single point on my screen. Things are flashing and occasionally I catch a glimpse of myself or props and the sort scattered around, however the game is 100% unplayable. It's hard to explain. The links below are two pictures I took of my screen. Any fixes or suggestions?

  • Some version of Windows Police pro will not let me connect to the internet via IE. Help?

Just recently I got infected with some form of Windows Police Pro, or Windows Anti-virus, one or the other. Essentially the little blue shield with a white stripe going through it. My problem is that whenever I try to connect to the internet via Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, or any other game that I play that requires an internet connection (except for the games I play through Steam) it just won't connect, but for some reason I can connect to the internet through Firefox. I've recently read that viruses have the ability to block your internet connection to a point where you can't open up a browser, but your internet is still there and usable. This is my problem. Can't connect to the internet except through Firefox even though I found and deleted the .exe file that the virus was using.

Wall of text bad. Organized list good.

    - Can connect thru Firefox

    - Can't connect thru IE/Chrome

    - Games that require internet connection won't connect (except for games played through Steam)

    - Deleted the main .exe file of the virus, the windows and the alerts don't appear anymore.

    - Still can't connect to the internet

  • Fallout 3 has recently significantly dropped in performance. Why?

I've been playing Fallout 3 lately and when I first began it, the game ran very smoothly at the lowest end settings. But now, with my same settings, the game has become glitchy and very slow and laggy. I've tried stuff like setting the resolution down, changing certain variables, and even tried a console command that's supposed to free up memory to improve performance. I even tried setting it's .exe to high priority, but that just seemed to make it worse. What can I do?

  • If I choose to restore my XP to a certain date, will my files that I downloaded since then be gone?

I keep extending on this one big problem I'm having with my PC. So, this being the second extension, I'll just tell you everything that I'm having trouble with:

So this all started a few days ago when this big malware thing called Windows Police Pro put itself on my computer. I figured out how to disable and remove most of it so it would stop working, but then another problem arose. When the virus hit, and after the virus hit, my .exe files were screwed up. Whenever I try to launch a program, a window pops up asking me what program I want to use. No matter how many times I launched the same program it would always ask me that. And not only that, but my Windows Command Prompt won't work because it says that it cannot find a certain file. And every little application also won't work. And now I'm thinking of restoring my computer, which now that I'm typing this whole darn thing I'm thinking it over and it doesn't sound too bad seeing as I haven't done a whole lot on my computer since the badness happened... But now I have a different question: The Windows Police Pro virus came out of virtually, nowhere. So if I restore my PC to a day or two before that happened, will it happen again? Or was it just random that I got it from the internet? If something was put on my computer to trigger the "installation" then what's a fast way that can detect it and remove it before it infects my PC again? Thanks for any help in advance.

(If anyone has enough patience to read that whole thing AND give me a thorough answer to fix my problem, you're a hero. Which also means Chosen for Best Answer, as well... Just sayin'...)

  • Windows cannot find 'C:\PROGRA~1\AERIAG~1\PROJEC~1\PROJEC~1.…'? Command prompt not working?

To put it simply, my Windows Command Prompt won't open up correctly because of that error described in the question. The full error message is as follows:

"Windows cannot find C:\PROGRA~1\AERIAG~1\PROJEC~1\PROJEC~1 (dot)BIN. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

(Yahoo! wouldn't take the whole address so I added the (dot) which signifies a period. There is also NO space between the original period and the second PROJEC~1) And I need the command prompt to type in a code line. If there's some secondary way to type in code without using the prompt please tell me now. But I would prefer regaining control of the original.

  • My exe programs always ask what program to use. Fix?

After a big virus hit my computer (fortunately removed quickly) all the programs in my computer are asking me what exe I want to use for it. If I Browse for the program and point the application to the correct .exe, it'll work fine. But it will always ask me what program I want to use, even after I selected what program multiple times. What's wrong? How can I fix it?

  • My computer is getting bombarded with strange viruses that reappear after a day or two. Diagnosis? Fix?

I've been getting these strange viruses that my scanner keeps finding and asking me about in the "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner" folder. The viruses are always .exe files and I once found them in my Task Manager and ended the processes immediately. They are also always named as some random number such as 26734 or 173 or 6523 with no pattern or numeric order. They are "generated" one at a time and by the time I come back after, for example, two days the folder is filled with 15+ of these files. I check in this folder every few days to delete them so it's becoming a regular thing. Has anyone else gotten these things before? Does anyone know how to prevent it in the future?

  • I want to identify this song, having no luck?

I heard this song on a YouTube video one day, and the user said that the original song got replaced by the one I was hearing. I really like the song, but can't identify it. Probably because it's one of the songs you can choose from YouTube's own music selection that you can add to your videos. So it's likely that the song isn't from a very well known artist, but maybe someone knows it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdSa4zGT8x4

That's the link to the video. The main part, the part that repeats (what do music people call it?) starts as:

"Don't stop remember this aint over. break up your life until ya get sober."
