I want a gaming laptop. Would the Alienware M11x do the job?
I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop that's under $1000. The Alienware M11x seems to be a pretty good idea, but I hear people say: "oh don't get Alienware, those are craptops."
Should I believe them? Would you recommend it or are there better laptops with lower prices for gaming?

Opinions. I need them.

Umm I would recommend a Asus Gaming Laptop, they are by far much more reliable and they have better performance. You can get some Asus Gaming Laptops for pretty damn cheap if you shop at the right places, most of their gaming Laptops come with 6gb of Ram, 1gb Nvidia Dedicated Graphics Cards and either i5 or i7 Intel Processors, nothing gets the job done as well as a Asus Gaming Laptop. I went ahead and did a search for you on Amazon and found a very good Asus Gaming Laptop for around $1000, It has everything you would need with a clean sleek design. Here's a link to check it out:

I would seriously recommend looking into the ASUS laptops. They are far better gaming laptops all around than Alienware, and they use Intel chipsets as opposed to the AMD chipsets that Alienware uses.
Also, in terms of reliability, ASUS is considered the most reliable laptop brand on the market right now with Toshiba coming in a close second

I ordered an m15x ( coming the 15th =D ) but i looked into the m11x before and the only recommendation i would suggest for it would be to upgrade the processor to the overclockable one. Other than that i think if you have the money you should get an alienware sure you pay for the name but you also pay to be unique when all your friends just stare at you with a jealous frown on their face.

There is no question when it comes to gaming laptops that alienware is the best , which is why DELL bought them and dumped their xps laptops from the high end section , how ever the laptop you re speaking about the M11x isnt a one spec lap , it can be customised , so it depends on what you re gonna put in it , but for under 1000 try MSI GX640 it has an HD 5850
