Naming a kid "Hero"...?
Just thinking to myself.
That's kind of weird, isn't it?
But at the same time I think it's kind of epic, haha.

Yeah, naming a kid "Hero" is weird. It's not the weirdest name a kid could have but still...I don't want to think about the amount of teasing that kid is going to go through.
Nevertheless, I'm all for picking names that aren't necessarily traditional but have a special meaning. My mom has always said that names are really important and have to be chosen carefully. Not sure if it's true or not, but she says that the type of name a person has will determine what kind of life he/she will have.
Anyway, it seems that Hero is not a popular choice for a first name. It's too bad that English does not have as much flexibility for names as other languages. Like you could name your kid all-powerful awesome dragon in Chinese, and people wouldn't think anything of it. They would probably say that it's a nice, strong name.
By the way, cool yahoo id, haha...very creative

Going for it in the first name slot seems like a bit of an egotistical move, but all the same I like the name. I prefer it on a girl (and like the Shakespearean association), though it's cool on a boy, too.
I also enjoy it in the middle name slot quite a bit. My favorite 'Hero-as-a-middle-name' combo is Aurelia Hero.

Well, if you want to get him beat up a lot and called "sandwich boy" among other things until he screams anytime you get near a Subway or a Quizno's...why not?

It's very different but I don't mind it. You could also use a name that means hero like Hailey.

I'm sorry, but no. There are some names kids should never have to be tormented with growing up--"Hero" is one of them.
