Who do you think Charlie is writing to in The Perks of Being A Wallflower?

I just finished the book an hour ago, and a couple of pages before the epilogue I had this hunch that maybe Charlie was writing to himself (because of a couple of reasons like at times he said he wasn't there and he didn't sleep with Sam). Now, I'm not exactly sure who the letters are for. I've been wanting to find out since the first sentence of the book. Any ideas?

I think it is a a deliberate unknown. It is a bit to in the moment to be letters to himself, only written after he didn't try to sleep with Sam. I thought for a while, the letters might be to his dead aunt, but it is obvious they weren't. I even considered the brother's ex-girl, but the timing is off there as well.

I think they're meant to be unknown, a purposeful trick to draw the reader in.
