Error message when Windows starts. Help?
I recently had some malware I guess on my laptop. Every time I would start my computer I would have three shortcut icons on my desktop to porn sites. Well, I ran Malware Bytes and I think it got rid of it (though I dunno').
Anyways, now when I boot up I get the message: "error loading c:\Windows\TEMP\msxm192z.dll The specified module could not be found."
How can I get rid of this? Does this mean I still have a virus or malware or whatever? Thanks!

Reinstall your operating system (Windows)
Be aware that this will get rid of EVERYTHING, but if it is a virus it'll get rid of that also. You'll need to start from scratch again, but hey, nothing beats a spring clean!

Most computer errors are born in a part of your system which hardly anyone knows or understands - the registry. This is the central database of Windows, which actually stores some of your computer's most important files and settings. Everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper are kept in this database, making it one of the most used parts of the Windows system.Because it's used so much, the registry database is actually prone to becoming corrupt and damaged, which makes Windows struggle to read the files inside it. Unfortunately, 100's of registry files are corrupted every week and Windows has no way to protect against it - it's this problem which causes most of your computer's errors. The problem is that when these files are corrupted, your PC actually takes longer to read them and often can't read them at all. This causes errors on your PC which seem to appear randomly. You can use a Registry cleaner. http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com/
Registry cleaners are tools which have been created to scan through the registry. They work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it's corrupt or causing problems. If they find that it is broken, the registry cleaner will replace or fix the file for you to make your computer speed up and become free of errors. You should have a try! Good Luck!

Sounds like you still have a virus. Save what you can off your laptop that you need, and then I say wipe it clean install a good virus protector and go from there. I had a crappy virus on my laptop, a Trojan horse actually, your laptop will probably never run the same again. Even when it says the virus is gone, it always runs sort of crappy afterward.

It means when you got rid of the problem it took something with it.
Whatever part is missing is in the temp folder and whatever still remains there is unimportant, all you have to do is get rid of the remainder of the junk connected to the msxm192z.dll and the problem will be solved.

Resist the porn temptation man seriously it is not worth it. If you have gone to a porn site which i'm guessing you have, those are like the only sites that cause problems. My friends laptop crashed from PORN even though i warned him. By the way that error means your screwed.

Windows Startup error is a big issue as your windows will crash soon. You should use registry cleaner to clean windows registry errors. This will help you definitely.

no/maybe.
it means you removed the file but not the registry call for it or the startup call.
you need to make a note of the file, msxm192z.dll, and use regedit xearch to find it and remove it, same w/ msconfig. be careful using regedit, backit upo before you change anythig.

This happened to me so i unpkugged the big bar at the bottom of the laptop and then blow on it then put it in. if that still doesnt work, then there is this small hardware thiingy on the side and the screw could be gone so unplugg that and push it in untiol it is snug. that worked for me
