Will upgrading to windows 7 ultimate slow down my pc?
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz
RAM: 1023 mb
32 bit operating system

I suggest you add your RAM to more than 2G so that your windows 7 would running more fluently!

if you are using windowsXP without a graphic card then stick to it but if you have got 128mb video memory then go for windows7. Processor and ram are cool, don't worry.
For best experience of windows7 128mb video memory is essential, But
if you are using windows vista then you should definitely upgrade!

I think it will slow your PC.
While upgrading, it may damage your registry.
It could be the reason why your PC run slow.
Suggest you clean your registry.
