How do you import email messages from Outlook Express 6 into Outlook in Windows7?

I'm moving old email messages from OE6 on an old PC to Outlook on a new Windows7 machine. Normally you're supposed to move it to OE6 on the new machine first and then to Outlook, (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA010943... but Windows7 doesn't have OE installed anymore. Outlook's import tool won't do anything with them either. Any ideas?

Try installing and using Thunderbird instead of Outlook.

It will most likely very happily import your OE email for you.

You can easily move email messages from Outlook Express 6 into MS Outlook using the DBX to PST Converter (http://www.dbxtopst.net/). As for carrying out the task on Windows 7, you don’t have to be concerned about that either. The DBX to PST Converter is a Windows based tool and is compatible with every version of Windows OS, including Windows 7. Using this tool you can also convert multiple files from DBX to PST, for the facility of batch conversion is provided.
