MacBook Pro or acer Aspire 5738PG-664G50MN?

Hi, I am not sure whether to purchase the Windows, acer laptop, or the MacBook Pro 15".

Both have multi-touch, one on the trackpad, the other on the screen, both have a webcam, both have 15" screens.

After doing some research, here is what I have found:

The MacBook has better looks, graphics card, slightly better processor. Plus I have always used macs and know their reliability.

The acer:

Has a bigger hard drive, more ram, better battery life and is WAY cheaper. However I am unsure of how reliable these laptops are, or whether Windows 7 is as good or better than Snow Leopard.

Please can someone help me decide which is the better option.

My dad- an IT professional, has owned an Acer Aspire, and I can truly tell you, NEVER BUY ACER! Yes, they offer better specs, but they will not last more than a year. The Acer we had hit the Blue screen of death more than 6 times before my dad smashed it.

Now, I am a Mac person, but I am not gonna' push that on you. I think if you can afford it, go for it, I prefer Snow leopard over Windows 7, yeah Win7 is a big update, but it is just a rip off the Mac OS. A Mac will last you longer, it doesn't have to set up BIOS, so it is usable right out of the box. Macs can run windows via Boot Camp. Also, they can't get viruses that affect PCs because of the UNIX inside. There is a lot of good apps on it, and software.

If you don't want to shell out the cash, I suggest a Sony Vaio, I think they are the PC answer to a Macbook. You get a lot for the money you pay, plus, if you've every owned anything Sony, you will know that you get that rich quality that only Sony seems to offer.

My dad and I have done countless tests of running a PC, and a Mac, all on a fresh boot, and same specs, and in the end; the Mac ran more efficiently.

Good luck. I can almost guarantee if you go Mac, you won't come back, to a PC.

Go with the macbook pro, they are reliable and since you have always worked with macs you know this at first hand. I recently had the same dilemma and decided to go with the macbook pro, and let me tell you, I couldn't be happier with the decision I made.

Go with the MacBook Pro. The battery life is great on the MacBook Pro. Also if it is a budget issue look at their education prices or refurbished. Here is a good example of what you can get for $1299

If you have a budget of about 1 Lakh 50 Thousand Rs,then you should go with MacBook Pro.You will have MacOS and due to BootCamp, you could also install Windows. But if you have a lowere budget then you probably have to with the Acer.
