Well you should have a separate number for the hub to make the voip calls. I have my land line number & the voip number which for me is a normal number. It has my area code followed by the six digit number. So technically I have 2 phone lines coming into the house. First you have to pr the hub phone with the router. Once this is done you should be able to make calls. If you hold button 5 down on the hub phone you should be able to switch between making calls on your land line or via the voip line. When you press & hold 5 you hear a slight break in dial tone as it switches across. The dial tone sounds different for each of the lines. It has been a while since I set mine up & I am sure that I had to do nothing with the software on my PC to change the hub settings to get it to work.
