i really think that mls needs to bring back the reserve division if an mls team wants to be competitive in the CONCACAF champions league and still be able to play well in its regular season games they need to bring back the reserve players i also think that this will alow for more even competition in actual league play. Another sugestion that i heard from the guys on World Football Daily is for the final day of the mls season they should try to get all the games to start at the same time so that there is some score board watching during the game.
My last idea is a fun one since it is the 15 season for the MLS the original teams should have some games where they wear throwback jerseys from their 1st season. examples are the san jose could wear clash jerseys insten of earthquake the wizards could wear the old rainbow colored wiz jerseys i think that would be a cool premotion

I'm with David in that I want a single table configuration. The league seems to be interested in internationalizing itself to become less Americanized by getting rid of the backward counting clock and gimmicks they tried in the early years.
Even with Union entering next season I don't care if there are fifteen teams in front of them, or one. It all comes out in the wash for me. I mean I know seedings are important for the playoffs, but in the end its MLS Cup or bust.
If MLS wants to be seen as worthy of comparison to the European circuits, then "do as the Romans do" and not worry about turning NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, WWF, PGA, or NCAA fans into football fans. There are those of us who hope to see the day when we gain some respectability in the world of football.
I'd also like to see the league do away with anything resembling the Beckham Experiment in the future. Unless we can attract players in their prime, MLS will be taking the same road as NASL and turn itself into a Retirement League.
After Vancouver and Portland join in 2011, I'd prefer they slow down a bit with the expansion. Yes, I am fortunate and grateful that I now have a team. I also know what its like to be on the outside looking in. I had to support DC United from afar since 96. But again, they are doing what NASL did - albeit more carefully - and I'm just not comfortable with the speed at which they are expanding.
All in all, I'm confident in their general approach and see no reason to make any huge changes.

The best move was LA acquiring Ruiz. It is scary how strong that team is becoming. The worst move award goes to Kansas City, who lost their franchise player, and the only reason why they made the playoffs. That one stings, and you can tell they are worried about it because they are basically starting over and trading for young talent to rebuild with. I think DC United has lost more than we yet realize - and their patchwork of international negotiations is going to need to translate into chemistry on the field if they hope to bounce back from their embarrassing first round loss last year. Sorry to say it with all yall fans here, but they are hurting. (And come on, Martinez is nice - but not what the team was looking to fill, let's be honest here.)

I would like to see a single table, which to my knowledge is a change that wouldn't even require spending a dime. I don't see the need to divide teams into Eastern and Western conferences, especially if the 8 teams that qualify for the playoffs are simply those with the best records, as opposed to picking the top 4 from each conference. As a Red Bulls fan, I was happy to see them make it to MLS Cup last year (and baffled that they followed that up with one of the bleakest seasons in league history, though I'm getting off-topic), though I must admit there's something ridiculously incongruous about an East Coast city qualifying for that match as the "Western Conference" champion. As for the MLS-bashers here, if you don't care for the league, why bother commenting on it? You're on a par with those who feel the need to bash football ("soccer" here in the States) in general: why bother?

well the playoffs didn't end so its not the off-season for the league. The league is steadily improving so their should be no drastic changes.I would like to see would be more games televised, one table not east an west and more emphasis on youth training. Other then that the product is fairly solid, more teams need to play on grass soccer specific stadiums but that is out of don garbers hands.

i'll say one thing- i have heard some talk about moving the season to a traditional soccer schedule instead of summer and i think that is completely stupid and illogical for the market. you can see in this section more questions going on when other soccer leagues arent in session. the fact is that most people would rather see premier leagues regular season than mls playoffs, so why would you want to compete against them all season long? plus baseball is much easier to compete against than american football is and playing in domes to shield the weather is completely lame.
anyway, the biggest change i would like to see is a decent wage for the practice squad players, nothing extravagent, just enough that they dont need a second job. i think its a bad thing that the USL can pay more than MLS practice squads. keeping our talent starts at the bottom.
edit: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=4119... they need a second job, read this. in 07 the practice squads were making as low as 13,000. i couldnt find a number for this year.

Everyone who's just talking **** about the MLS doesn't know anything about it and should be quiet.
Also wire & string, no player gets paid so little that they need another job. Right now the MLS is trying to push the salary cap as high as possible but it won't rocket up. Slow changes will happen but if MLS don't have the money they can't do anything.

I would like to see more International players and the salary cap moved up some, Also more owners building stadiums. And for the people who keep on with this mikey mouse shyte, I ask you other than footballers do you have any other real athletes? Please give me your nation's gold medal count from last olympics as compared to the US? And as for watching mexican football I feel it's no different than the J-league, Hyundai A-League, or MLS so why even bring that up?

the play off format make it like the champion league format when draws are involved and two leggecd for the conference final

I really don't think there's much hope for MLS. It may be appealing to some Americans but i'm sorry to say that to most of us Europeans who were born into a footballing culture it looks very mickey mouse.
Source(s): One reason we bash it is because it looks absolutely stupid to us when we see football (soccer) played on plastic grass with stupid gridiron markings on it. It doesn't look professional, it looks Mickey Mouse. Like Pat said "get proper stadiums".
