Could the cowpox virus be transmitted from human to human?

I know that dairymaids were usually exposed to the virus early on in their careers, and that this exposure immunized them from smallpox, but could this virus also be transmitted from the dairymaids to their families and friends?

Cows to humans and some wild rodents to humans have been reported but there has yet to be a reported transmission from human to human.

As the below CDC article states the "virus is not well adapted to interhuman spread".
