Browser compatibility issue?
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this....
I am designing a wordpress blog and everything in it looks fine in firefox, opera, and chrome
But once I view it in IE (which I'm now beginning to despise from a designers point of view) the date and title section is completely jacked up.
what is causing this?
what can i do to fix it in IE but let it remain the same in the other browsers?
(by the way I've already validated it)

You need to do what is called conditional commenting. Here is a search for conditionla commenting, check out the various sites to find more information.

Ok the easyest way I've found to do this is something called the Style Sheet Switcher (v1.1) from dynamicdrive.com.
Here is the exact link http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/styleshe...
It allows the user/ site visitor to pick a different style sheet. Origninakly its meant to allow people to pick different themes for the site that they want, but I use to for situations like this. An example is the site I webmaster for armandocepeda.com, it had problems with safari so I put set it up so safari users could fix the site problems by switching to a safari safe theme...pretty much the same I had just with some positioning changes.
It saves what they pick in a cookie so it stays that way when the come back.
Source(s): Personal experience, dynamicdrive.com and armandocepeda.com the site I webmaster for. The script is free, easyly explaned with a cool demo. - 1 decade ago
Sadly, Internet Explorer is a non-Standards compliant browser. meaning it follows whatever rules it feels like, so if you make it appear right on IE, you may invalidate your page.. My solution: Don't use IE :D
