How important are mid year reports?
I have a 4.0 and my class rank is in the top 2%. I do tons of extracurriculars activity including a lot of community service. My SAT score is a 2030 and im taking it one more time to hopefully get a 2100 or above. I got an 800 on the Math II Subject Test and a 650 on the Literature Subject Test which I took again and hopefully i got higher.
But... How important are mid year to Brown (my top choice) or any school for that matter?
I'm taking 5 AP classes this year and my first quarter GPA will probably be a 3.5 and my second quarter will either be around there or higher. Do you think this will ruin my chances of getting into Brown?

All top tier colleges consider mid year reports for admission. They want to make sure you didn't become overrun with senioritis. They like people who continue to work hard despite it being senior year. A 2100 SAT score is not that impressive to Brown either. Try to get 2200+ and another SAT II over 750 to put yourself in range. Your senior year GPA should at least be 3.7 for an A- average. 5 APs isn't that many either–probably average for Ivy League applicants. Work hard, but understand that a 3.5 senior year can keep you out of a school of Brown's caliber. It seems like you are still applying regular decision. Just know that many of the kids I go to school with who are applying there have 2250+ on their SATs, 4.0 GPAs and some (including myself) have even been published in research journals. Also, it is not uncommon to see people with 3+ perfect SAT IIs. It is stiff competition, but don't be surprised if things don't work out for you. Good luck though.
